Engineering Manager / Mechanical Engineer

We are recruiting a new Engineering Manager to support the Engineering Director in the delivery of engineering and project management services to Brodie Engineering and its customers.

The key responsibilities will include:

  • ·Assessment of damage to vehicles and production of work instructions to describe necessary repairs

  • ·Writing technical reports including justifications for engineering decisions

  • ·Engineering calculations and analysis to ensure that designs can be manufactured reliably and will perform consistently within specified operating environments.

  • ·Ensuring engineering processes are followed and improved where necessary

  • Identifying appropriate engineering standards to work to and conducting gap analysis to determine any actions that must be taken.

  • Designing and implementing effective modifications to improve design reliability, safety and productivity

  • Manage the day to day work within the Engineering & Project Management team of 5, providing motivation, coaching, development and capability assessment of team skills and engineering skills gaps.


You will have extensive experience as a hands-on senior engineer with team management experience, preferably within the Rail industry or other heavy vehicle engineering environments. Ideally you will be a Chartered Engineer with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Able to demonstrate good communication and influencing skills you will also have the passion and enthusiasm to relish the challenge of helping to develop the business through effective relationship management with both internal and external customers.
